Favorite Local Dinner Spots in Durham, NC

One of the benefits of choosing a luxury apartment at Palladian Place is our great location near many of the main amenities of Durham. While our apartments have beautiful kitchens that make cooking enjoyable, everyone likes to enjoy dining out on occasion. When you want to eat out, consider one of these favorite local dinner spots.

  • Dame’s Chicken & Waffles

317 West Main Street
You can’t truly live in the south until you’ve tried Chicken and Waffles, and the plate at Dame’s is one of the best. Alongside some of the tastiest chicken and waffles in town, you’ll enjoy schmear, which is Dame’s signature flavored spreading butter. If you’re not in the mood for this signature dish, check out their Carolina-style barbecue sauce, and some meat to go with it.

  • Bull City Burger and Brewery

107 East Parrish Street
At Bull City, everything’s made from scratch. They even brew their own beer and grind their own beef to make one of the tastiest burgers in town. Ask for the secret burger to indulge in duck fat frites, a fried egged and house-made aioli right on top of the tasty burger patty.

  • Piedmont

401 Foster Street, Suite B2
Piedmont owns its own 55-acre farm, and the meat and produce served at this Southern cooking restaurant is almost entirely produced on the farm. This is true farm-to-table, with a sophisticated take on many Southern classics. It’s the food you love with the atmosphere you crave, a rare find even in a sophisticated foodie culture like Durham.

  • Cosmic Cantina

1920 Perry Street
Cheap food that’s also delicious is what you’ll find at Cosmic Cantina. You can’t beat a menu where almost everything is $8 or less, and the great thing about this local favorite is its late hours. If you’re craving a giant burrito at 3 a.m., you’ll find that they’re still open.

  • Saladelia

4201 University Drive
Saladelia may look simple, but the flavors here perfectly capture the tastes of the Mediterranean. Whether you grab a gyro or a salad, you’ll find that the food is fresh and the flavors are spot-on. This is a great option for a grab-and-go meal after a busy day, and you can also dine in to enjoy the flavors freshly prepared.
