Best Things to Do This Holiday Season in Orlando, FL

Once you’ve decorated your apartment at Solstice in its holiday best, you’ll want to take some time to explore the many festive events in and around Orlando. With so many festivals, concerts, and other events to choose from, it can be hard to decide which ones to put on your calendar. We want to make the task a little easier with this list.

Visit the Theme Parks
It almost goes without saying, but all of Orlando’s world-famous theme parks pull out the stops for Holidays. Disney, LEGOLAND, Universal Studios, and Sea World all have unique holiday celebrations, and you’ll love going to your favorite park and seeing it decked out in tinsel and lights. These are often the best places to catch holiday music or shows, too.

Holiday on the Drive
From 5 to 9 pm on December 12, head to the College Park neighborhood in Orlando. You’ll be able to participate in a variety of activities, see Santa, and explore the lights of the neighborhood at the Holiday on the Drive festival.

Now Snowing
Now Snowing is a Holiday tradition in Celebration, Florida. This annual event brings snow to the Orlando area, and it’s a treat you won’t find elsewhere. Through December 31, the snow falls at 6, 7, 8, and 9 pm each night. In addition to the snow, you can also enjoy strolling carolers, Santa experiences, horse-drawn carriage rides, and more. An ice-skating rink and train ride are available. Visit on December 14th to hear A Countdown to Christmas, a free concert featuring many talented young musicians.

Ice! At Gaylord Palms
Though it’s technically in Kissimmee, the Gaylord Palms resort is synonymous with Orlando luxury, and at during this time of year, you’ll want to visit. The resort has many holiday experiences, including an eight-lane snow tubing hill, a Holiday-themed cirque show, the Sounds of the Season Concert series, a holiday escape room, and visits with Santa, and more. Of these, ICE! is by far the most popular. Each year the resort brings in millions of pounds of ice to the grounds, and artists go to work carving them into a beautiful display. This year the theme of this indoor winter wonderland is The Polar Express. Stroll through a self-guided tour past colorful, life-sized ice sculptures, then take a ride down a two-story ice slide.

Whether you spend your holiday exploring life-sized ice sculptures or take the time to visit a holiday festival, the Orlando area delivers plenty of options. Choose your favorite and enjoy the festivities of the season close to your apartment home.
